MAXILLO-FACIAL PAYS BASQUE
The fit of the program of the Maxillo-Facial Pays Basque clinic has followed a logic of internal functioning. The clinic offers both surgical intervention as also previous or post consultations. Both services require different spaces and times of attention, which favors the segregation of the clinic into two separate areas, consultations and intervention, both on the façade, and both with their own waiting room. In parallel, four assistants, two at the entrance and two at the exit, perform the patient’s follow-up: consultations, radiography, intervention, administration or planning. These two facts determine the distribution and internal circulations.
To resolve these different uses in the central core, a lattice system of beech wood has been used, which gives a certain intimacy, without completely closing the views or the entrance of light. This material, together with the furniture finished in green-blue melamine and the black markina marble on the counter, define the image of public spaces, facing the pavement in light tones, which contributes to the amplitude of the whole. The choice of furniture has also been made following criteria of transparency and maximum visibility to reinforce this feeling of lightness and spaciousness.
